You know, just cruise the streets, see someone, offer a ride. If they take it, great. If not, I can at least warm them up in the truck and just get them a water, meal, something. And it's just giving back to the community like everybody should do."
A major winter storm across the United States caused at least 11 deaths and prompted warnings to stay off the roads. The storm dumped snow, sleet and freezing rain from Texas to New England while temperatures were forecast to fall dangerously low. Five people were found dead outside over the weekend in New York City. Roads across many states were iced or buried under feet of snow, and in southern areas inch-thick ice brought down trees and power lines. Flights were canceled, schools closed, and volunteers and emergency shelters mobilized to aid vulnerable residents.
