"An AC Transit bus carrying eight passengers collided with a white Nissan SUV in East Oakland yesterday afternoon, jumping the curb and driving into the side of a working auto-body repair shop. According to AC Transit spokesperson Robert Lyles, the bus hit the car at the intersection of 68th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard around 1:15 p.m., causing both vehicles to lose control. Authorities have not yet said which vehicle had the right-of-way or whether either vehicle ran a red light."
"Within moments of the crash, people in the area attempted to help the passengers and the driver get out of the bus. That evening, the front end of the bus could be seen lodged deep inside the business, where a section of a brick wall was broken. An Oakland Police officer guarding the scene told The Oaklandside that the bus' windshield was shattered when it hit the wall. Bricks ended up deep inside the bus and surrounded the bus driver when she was found inside."
