Alexander Jeffrey Leatham, 30, a transgender woman from Albany, faces charges including murder in the death of Emma Borhanian and attempted murder of Vallejo landlord Curtis Lind, with an allegation of inflicting great bodily injury on a victim 70 or older. Lind suffered stab wounds, shot and killed Borhanian during the assault, and lost an eye in the attack. Leatham also faces charges of causing permanent disability, disfigurement and deprivation of a limb, organ and body of Lind. Leatham appeared for a preliminary hearing on a charge of attempting to escape county jail, where a deputy testified and prosecutors played security and body-camera video.
