Bringing Back Stagflation, Lower Growth, and Higher Prices
Briefly

The Trump administration's economic performance has shown troubling indicators, with a 0.5 percent GDP decline in the first quarter of the year. While the second quarter saw a rise to 3 percent, the overall average growth for the first half of 2025 was only 1.2 percent, a significant decrease from 2.8 percent under Biden. Consumer spending has also slowed dramatically, growing at only 0.9 percent, significantly lower than previous years, with discretionary spending particularly sluggish, evidenced by an 8.5 percent decline in air travel expenditure.
