Mohammed bin Salman visited the White House and received an elaborate ceremonial welcome featuring a military honour guard, a cannon salute and a flyover by US warplanes. The crown prince arrived amid fanfare and a jet flyover as part of efforts to rehabilitate his global image after the 2018 killing of Jamal Khashoggi and to deepen ties with Washington.
