The Florida Panthers gave up a season-high in goals as they fell to the Carolina Hurricanes 9-1 at Lenovo Center, Friday. The Hurricanes were led by Nikolaj Ehlers, who had a hat trick and an assist. Ehlers' hatty was his first as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes and the sixth of his career. The Metropolitan Division's first-place team also got goals from Mark Jankowski, Alexander Nikishin, Andrei Svechnikov, Taylor Hall, and Eric Robinson.
After remarks by the president and members of the team, the Panthers presented Trump with a custom jersey with his last name and the number 47 a longstanding tradition for championship visits. The Panthers, however, didn't stop there. In addition to the jersey, the team gifted him with a gold hockey stick and two championship rings. It's unclear if the stick was made of real gold, but it certainly had some heft to it.
Gustavo Petro and Donald Trump ended their mutual attacks on Wednesday after a phone call lasting more than an hour. Upon hanging up, the U.S. president said it had been a great honor to speak with his Colombian counterpart and that he looked forward to welcoming him at the White House, a meeting his advisors are already arranging. Petro responded that Colombia can now sleep peacefully.
Elon Musk made it back to the White House. The world's richest man was seen attending a dinner at the White House on Tuesday night with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. "We have the biggest business leaders in the world," President Donald Trump said at the dinner. It's Musk's first public visit to the White House since his feud with President Donald Trump exploded in June following Musk's departure from his role as the de facto leader of the White House DOGE Office.
Jalen Hurts gave a noncommittal answer about attending the Eagles' White House visit, amidst rumors the team would skip the event after their Super Bowl win.
