Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran could resolve differences with the United States through dialogue, although trust issues have emerged due to recent attacks. An unprecedented Israeli bombing campaign killed significant Iranian military figures and disrupted upcoming nuclear talks. Pezeshkian accused Israel of sabotaging negotiations and attempted assassination. The US also bombed Iranian nuclear facilities, raising the death toll during the conflict to over 1,060, complicating efforts for diplomatic resolution between Iran and the United States.
Pezeshkian stated, "I believe we could very much easily resolve our differences and conflicts with the United States through dialogue and talks," highlighting a willingness for diplomacy despite ongoing tensions.
He emphasized the issue of trust, stating, "How are we going to trust the United States again?" after recent attacks by Israel and the US on Iranian targets, complicating negotiations.
Regarding the assassination attempt on him, Pezeshkian noted, "They did try, yes. They acted accordingly, but they failed," attributing the attempt to Israel rather than the United States.
Pezeshkian indicated that the Israeli attacks have stalled negotiations, saying, "The Israeli attacks took place two days before Tehran and Washington were set to meet for a new round of nuclear talks."
