Axios emphasizes its commitment to prioritizing readers while maintaining journalistic integrity. The organization steers clear of editorial pages to prevent confusing readers and refrains employees from public political expressions, aiming for a more neutral stance in reporting. Their approach to 'Smart Brevity' seeks to deliver concise news, respecting the readers' time and intelligence. The landscape of information has shifted, with fragmentation becoming prominent, leading Axios to strengthen its connection with core readers while exploring new avenues for engagement.
Our North Star: Readers first. Those were the first two words of our Axios Manifesto nearly eight years ago, and they've shaped every tough decision ever since.
No editorial page, ever. Opinion pieces drive a lot of traffic - and therefore a lot of ad revenue and subscribers - for our competitors. But we felt it was confusing for readers to have to differentiate between an opinion piece and a serious news piece.
We ask anybody who works for Axios, whether they're on the editorial side or any other part of the business, not to express their political leanings in public settings.
Smart BREVITY. We ask every reporter to fully buy into both the "Smart" and "Brevity" parts of our journalism. This is designed to be respectful of your time and intelligence.
