A 'Workers Over Billionaires' march occurred in San Francisco's Mission District on Labor Day alongside a separate rally for current and retired federal workers outside the Philip Burton Federal Building. Protests across the nation targeted the Trump administration and policies including a crackdown on immigrants, proposed federal workforce cuts, and perceived attacks on unions. Members and supporters of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association protested proposed cuts to the federal workforce and threats to collective bargaining. The largest Bay Area event was organized by the May Day Strong Coalition and drew teachers, city workers, service workers, and union leaders who rallied at Mission and 16th streets. Hundreds to around a thousand participants joined the demonstrations.
Labor power and power of the people against a government that is not only corrupt but also seems help destroy everything good that we have created with this country. This is the least we can do.
