"I want to give you a 30-second version so I don't ruin the night for some of you that still live in New York City. But I'm going to need your help because I can't sing to save my life,"
"This is what Sean Hannity does at 2 o'clock in the morning and I wasn't even drinking."
"Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today, no longer want to be a part of it, high taxed New York. These commie Mamdani blues, are longing to leave, right to the very heart of it, bye bye New York."
Sean Hannity opened Fox Nation's Patriot Awards with a brief, rewritten version of New York, New York aimed at the newly elected NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani. Hannity asked the black-tie audience to join a short sing-along and displayed the lyrics on large screens. He acknowledged an inability to sing and described the performance as a quick, 30-second sample. The crowd sang lines that referenced leaving high-tax New York and labeled the mayor with a pejorative phrase. Hannity has previously left New York and announced a relocation to Florida in 2024.
