President Donald Trump addressed cabinet members and made remarks asserting that looks do not matter in politics. He criticized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's appearance, saying Schumer looked like he had aged 100 years, and said he avoids commenting on looks. Trump gestured to Attorney General Pam Bondi and joked that he would never call her beautiful because it would end his political career, prompting laughter in the meeting. Bondi has regained favor after controversies tied to the release of The Epstein Files and a dispute with FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. Trump recently praised Bondi as the best attorney general during a law enforcement meeting.
At one point, he jumped from transgender athletes to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). And then I saw this poor, stupid Chuck Schumer, the guy, he looks like he's aged 100 years, and I don't like getting into looks, Trump said. You know looks don't mean anything, right? When you're in politics, looks don't matter. Trump then motioned across the table to Bondi, 59, saying, I look at Pam.
I look at Pam. I would never say she's beautiful, because that's gonna be the end of my political career. The remark prompted laughter among the cabinet members before Trump moved on to the slob of a governor you have in Illinois. Bondi, once a target of right-wing vitriol over the bungled release of The Epstein Files, appears to be in her boss' good graces.
The Epstein saga sparked a battle with FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, one in which she reportedly emerged the winner. Last week, Trump declared she would go down in history as the best attorney general we've ever had during a meeting with law enforcement officials after he put the D.C. Metro Police Department under federal control. Watch above via Fox News.
