During a recent flight on Air Force One, President Trump was questioned about the inspector general investigation into Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's use of the Signal messaging app for sensitive discussions. Initially confused by the inquiry, Trump expressed irritation when reminded of the subject, labeling it a pointless story. Despite his dismissal, critics of Trump are calling for continued media attention on the scandal involving the app, which became a topic of public concern due to security implications regarding military operations.
At first, Trump was unclear on the question. "What is it?" Trump said. "There's an IG investigation into the secretary of defense's use of the Signal app," she said.
Trump got irritated. "Oh, is that? You're bringing that up again?" a miffed Trump fired back. "Don't bring that up again. Your editor's probably, that's such a wasted story."
But Trump's critics weren't ready to let him off the hook, with many urging reporters to keep bringing up the Signal scandal.
