Greenwich Peninsula to be home to community radio station
Briefly

The Royal Borough of Greenwich approved the establishment of LOOSE.FM at the Design District on the Greenwich Peninsula, marking the first dedicated space for the community radio station since its inception in 2021. Housed in a creatively designed shipping container, it aims to become a cultural landmark featuring interactive designs like giant illuminated eyes. The station plans to engage the public through live shows and events, emphasizing community connections and the creative sector's role in urban culture. Design District envisions LOOSE.FM as integral to their mission of supporting creativity and innovation.
Independent radio stations across London have faced challenges to keep the mics on in recent years but provide an important platform for culture, conversation and connection.
Radio is such an important medium for creating a sense of connection and community. The move to Design District marks a big moment for everyone involved.
We hope it will flourish. We're excited to see CAUKIN's design take shape over the coming months as we get ready to welcome the public to visit the station in April.
