Thank you Priscilla for this wonderful picture. Medium has known me to be an emotional, yet neutrally objective writer. I love pouring out my feelings sloppily on my drafts table, then piecing all the pieces together to form a well thought-out article. I then spend some time gluing all the words together, and have an article written in a wit-smacking style that's easy for people to take offense at.
Just as I was starting to feel the regret of taking the off-beaten path of leaving tech and taking a major paycut, I logged into LinkedIn to see an unsurprising flood of layoff announcements from my network.
These names look familiar, and I realise the people I was about to roll my eyes at are my friends. These are people I've shared meals with, people whose homes I've been into, people I debated and bitched about the Tech industry with.
