As Other Games Get Delays To Avoid Silksong, One Dev Says Screw It, We'll Launch On The Same Day

Hollow Knight: Silksong launches on September 4, prompting many indie developers to delay releases to avoid being overshadowed. Daedalic Entertainment and Splitside Games will release console ports of Fling to the Finish on September 4. Fling to the Finish is a cooperative racing party game featuring spherical, cartoonish characters paired two at a time navigating obstacle courses while racing other players. The game supports solo, online multiplayer, local split-screen, local and online co-op, cross-play, and a "share a controller" local co-op mode. The console release will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch; the game is already available on PC.
Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer Splitside Games confirmed the game will be releasing on console September 4 in a press release, referencing Silksong in a tongue-in-cheek manner: "Arriving same day as THAT metroidvania." To be fair, as you can see in a trailer below, there's no real reason to think that Fling to the Finish is in any direct competition with Silksong.
You can also play Fling to the Finish in solo, online multiplayer, local split-screen, and both local and online co-op, and there's cross-play between platforms too. If you really want to start an argument with your friends, there's even a "share a controller" local co-op mode. Fling to the Finish launches on September 4, and you'll be able to play it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It's already available to play on PC.
Fling to the Finish is more in the vein of games like Human: Fall Flat, as it sees you playing as perfectly spherical, cartoonish characters that are tied together two at a time. You then have to maneuver through various obstacle courses as you try not to drag your friend down with you, all while racing other players. Apart from both games featuring platforming, their target audiences couldn't be more different,
