A recently reported Warhammer RPG, developed by Thought Pennies and cancelled before its announcement, was based on the Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The game intended to provide a third-person action experience with multiplayer features. Despite collaboration with Nexon, the project ended when Nexon made a strategic pivot. Initially teased in 2021 as a virtual world game, it would have let players control armies of Sigmar. Although cancelled, other games based on the Warhammer franchise remain in development, including Realms of Ruin and Storm Ground.
Eurogamer discovered that Thought Pennies was making a game based on the Warhammer Age of Sigmar tabletop RPG, the fantasy alternative to Warhammer 40,000.
This canceled Age of Sigmar game would've seen players control "war hosts of the God-king Sigmar and his allies as they fight to bring order back to the realms".
"While the partnership worked well and we got a lot of good input from Nexon, Nexon made a strategic change. Late last year we agreed to end the project..."
