Funcom altered the PVP landscape in the Deep Desert of Dune: Awakening by reducing its size, making much of it PVE-only, which unintentionally led to players blocking resource nodes. Players are now experiencing difficulty accessing rare Tier 6 materials due to monopolization by others. The game features a weekly wipe that erases player structures to keep the experience fresh. However, this change surprised some players who found the newly available resources already claimed, leading to frustration with progressing in the game.
"DD PVE T6 mats experience, a base on each node," wrote one player on the Dune: Awakening subreddit today, alongside a picture what looks like a bunch of giant raised flower beds.
"There goes another week without T6 mats or progression unless I want to get slaughtered by the Russian zerg that basically owns my server's DD..."
The Deep Desert also wipes every week, deleting all players' structures to keep things fresh and interesting.
