Retailers like Forbidden Planet observe a steady increase in Marvel comic sales, attributed mainly to the new Marvel Ultimate line, rather than the game's success. Martin Averre of Ace Comics notes DC's rising sales and questions the impact of gaming on comic purchases, suggesting a disconnect between video game interest and comic book sales.

"Sales have increased steadily over 2024, but I think more in line with strong content created in the new Marvel Ultimate comic line."

"As yet it is too soon to say there has been an effect. DC sales are on the up with their range of Absolute titles knocking Marvel out of the park."
