The creator behind the franchise has helped make Pikmin shorts before, and Nintendo has them featured on a dedicated webpage. The Pikmin series has been around for almost 25 years, starting with 2001's Pikmin for Nintendo GameCube. The strategy franchise most recently saw the release of 2023's Pikmin 4 for Switch, but it's also gotten spin-offs, too."

The Pikmin franchise began in 2001 on Nintendo GameCube and saw Pikmin 4 released for Switch in 2023. Spin-offs include Pikmin Bloom (2021) and Pikmin Finder (2023). Speculation linked the shorts to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
