After a year in early access, No Rest For The Wicked is overhauling its attribute system based on player feedback and struggles with understanding. Moon Studios CEO Thomas Mahler pointed out that players often created underpowered builds due to the complex system, which even confused internal developers. The studio aims to introduce a new system that will allow rewarding level-ups and diverse build options, ensuring players can engage without overwhelming choices.
One thing that's become abundantly clear to us is that the attribute system has to die⦠After having analyzed the data, people clearly don't get it.
If you never put any points into the attributes that the weapon of your choice scales with, your level-20 character will be just as strong as a level 1 character.
We will ensure that leveling up feels insanely addictive and that each level up allows the player to make good choices while still allowing for a wide variety of builds.
