Nvidia's recent launch of the GeForce RTX 50-series has opened a window for AMD and Intel to reclaim market share. While RTX 50-series GPUs are solid, they lack significant advances in manufacturing, allowing AMD's new Radeon RX 9060 XT cards to compete effectively at $299 and $349 for 8GB and 16GB options. These cards utilize the RDNA 4 architecture, improving ray tracing and power efficiency compared to older models, thus providing a strong alternative in the midrange GPU market. The real challenge remains availability at MSRP.
Now that most of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards have been released, it's clear that they give AMD and Intel their best opportunity this decade to claw back some market share.
AMD is trying to press with the new Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics cards, priced at $299 and $349 for 8GB and 16GB, to comprehensively undercut Nvidia's offerings.
The RDNA 4 architecture addresses the RX 6000 and RX 7000-series' ray-tracing performance and power efficiency, making the RX 9060 XT promising for midrange buyers.
The difference between a 'good' GPU and a 'bad' one is whether you can actually find one and buy it for anything close to the list price.
