AMD has announced that its FSR 4.1 upscaling tech is coming to older Radeon RX graphics cards, starting with RDNA 3 GPUs this July. Until now, the latest version of FSR has been exclusive to Radeon RX 9000-series graphics cards, but come the summer, RX 7000 cards will benefit from superior AI-powered upscaling in their games. This is despite lacking the native specialized hardware required to run it.
AMD's Harry Wentland states that the company is finally adding HDMI FRL support to the popular Linux display driver, enabling higher bandwidth on compatible HDMI cables compared to the TMDS standard found on HDMI 2.0 and earlier.
Don't Expect Any Guarantees Without a doubt, what attracts investors to the YieldMax AMD Option Income Strategy ETF ( NYSEARCA:AMDY) is its advertised 54.65% annualized distribution rate. Since AMD stock doesn't pay any dividends or cash distributions at all, the AMDY ETF seems like a much better choice. Not only that, but the YieldMax AMD Option Income Strategy ETF pays out cash distributions on a weekly basis. Just imagine how much passive income you could earn through compounding if you reinvested the distributions every week.
The next-generation Xbox console is on track to launch in 2027 - at least that's what chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices believes. At its latest quarterly earnings call, AMD said the development on the custom chipset that will power the next-gen Xbox was "progressing well" to support the launch of the console in 2027. Initial reports and leaks placed the launch of the next Xbox, believed to be a PC/console hybrid running Windows, in 2027, along with Sony's PlayStation 6.
Revenue growth was just 5.6% annually in the past 3 years, but is expected to accelerate to over 34% annually in the coming years. EPS growth (minus non-recurring items) is expected to grow at a near-50% clip, too. A big mistake many investors made with AMD a year back is that they assumed the company had no prospects. After all, Nvidia controls 90-something percent of the AI GPU market.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company crushed Q4 earnings, reporting record profits that blew past Wall Street's expectations. Revenue hit $33.73 billion against a $1.03 trillion consensus, while EPS came in at $19.50 versus $17.89 expected. TSMC raised Q1 2026 guidance to $34.6-$35.8 billion with gross margins expanding to 63-65%, up from 62.3% last quarter. The market's response was immediate: semiconductor stocks rallied across the board in premarket trading, with ASML crossing $500 billion in market cap.
In the years ahead, AI is going to be a multi-layered fabric that gets woven into every level of computing at the personal layer," Tikoo said. "Our AI PCs and devices will transform how we work, how we play, how we create and how we connect with each other.
AMD's Strix Halo, aka " Ryzen AI Max," is a hugely expensive chip that includes some of the most powerful integrated graphics ever made. Though AMD initially marketed it more to AI workloads with its tremendous complement of up to 128GB of RAM, it's also inspired some unprecedented gaming designs - by far the most powerful handheld, the Framework Desktop, and this monster Asus tablet.
