Rebellion, the developer of Sniper Elite, had internally labeled Project Archipelago as a "new IP" but faced cancellation after losing backing from Tencent.
The development team working on Project Archipelago has been reassigned to other projects, including the upcoming Sniper Elite: Resistance, set to release in January.
Sniper Elite: Resistance will feature a campaign parallel to Sniper Elite 5, with additional multiplayer modes and the return of the popular Axis Invasion mechanic.
