Xbox has released a new beta software update for Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, enhancing the Series X and S systems' support for larger external hard disks. The update allows drives over 16TB to be partitioned into usable sections, enabling gamers to store more games, apps, and media. Additionally, users are advised to reformatted their existing drives over 16TB to take full advantage of this feature. Concurrently, new network quality indicators will assist cloud gamers in detecting issues with their connection, optimizing their gaming experience.
With the new update, Xbox systems can now partition hard disks larger than 16TB into segments to use the full physical storage space.
You won't need to redownload entire titles such as the 300GB-plus Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 using an internet connection when you feel like playing it again.
New network quality indicators for cloud gaming sessions will help players troubleshoot their connection by showing issues like packet loss or increased ping.
