Microsoft has halted development on Contraband, a multiplayer co-op game from Avalanche Studios, initially announced in 2021 and set in a fictional 1970s world. Avalanche confirmed that they are evaluating the project's future after an extended period without updates. Despite the cancellation of Contraband, Hideo Kojima's horror game, OD, remains in active development in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios. Contraband was promoted as an Xbox Series S/X exclusive and intended for release on Xbox Game Pass, Steam, and Windows.
