Following the trade deadline, the Washington Capitals welcomed Anthony Beauvillier into their lineup. The Caps acquired Beauvillier from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a second-round pick. Head coach Spencer Carbery has placed Beauvillier on the fourth line alongside Nic Dowd and Brandon Duhaime, emphasizing that their fourth line operates differently. While in Pittsburgh, Beauvillier played second-line minutes and contributed 20 points, but he’ll now play a more defensive role in Washington, where his adaptability will be key to his success.
"I think he'll be a good fit to our style of play, the pace he plays with, some of the attention to detail stuff that we require our guys to play with," Carbery said post practice.
"No matter what role he is given, he has the ability to adapt to whatever role his line is asked to play," said Coach Carbery of Beauvillier.”}],
"Per NHL.com's Tom Gulitti, Beauvillier is set to start on the Capitals' fourth line and skate with Nic Dowd and Brandon Duhaime, adjusting from a second-line role in Pittsburgh."
"Dowd’s line doesn’t play much like a fourth line. They play a lot more minutes than that, and Dowd and Dewey are really good players to play with to get him integrated into our group."
