Wes Johnson, the Capitals PA announcer, experienced a serious medical emergency in January, leading to his collapse in an Atlanta hotel room. After being found unconscious and taken to intensive care, he was placed in a medically induced coma for five days. Following a successful surgery, Johnson has begun to recover, expressing his gratitude and determination to regain his strength and return to work. His journey mirrors that of other figures in sports who have recently faced health challenges, showcasing resilience and hope.
I'm feeling better every day. Surgery has left me stiff and pained sometimes, but I'm pushing through with lots of walking and physical therapy.
Voice is back. Walking the halls is good. Now I build up strength so I can return to COA and my @Capitals family.
