Connor McMichael is week-to-week with an upper-body injury: 'He'll be out through the break'
"Mikey's week-to-week, upper body, so he'll be out through the (Olympic) break, obviously," Carbery said. "And then Roy's day-to-day, lower-body."
""We're going to need it through penalty kill, power play, five-on-five," Carbery said. "It'll be different guys in different situations so leaning on potentially Sonny Milano; power-play wise Frankie ( Ethen Frank) to move up a line and move him with that Dowd line. There's a lot of things that Mikey brings inside our lineup that we'll just need other guys to pick up the slack.""
Connor McMichael will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury and has been placed on injured reserve alongside defenseman Matt Roy, who is day-to-day with a lower-body issue. McMichael has recorded 31 points (8 goals, 23 assists) in 55 games and missed the final 8:18 of regulation and all of overtime against Detroit after sustaining a cross-check late in a power play. Bogdan Trineyev is listed on the NHL media site as a roster addition, indicating a likely replacement. Goaltending status is uncertain with Logan Thompson and Charlie Lindgren possibly too injured to play. Coach Spencer Carbery said multiple players will need to cover McMichael's roles on special teams and at five-on-five.
