The Hershey Bears have announced that head coach Todd Nelson will be away from the team for family reasons. Assistant coaches Nick Bootland and Patrick Wellar will serve as co-head coaches during Nelson's absence.
Nelson has led the Bears to back-to-back Calder Cup championships in his first two seasons with the club, celebrating his 100th career win with them in his 149th game.
With 413 AHL wins, he's one of the most winningest coaches in league history, showcasing his exceptional leadership and skill in the sport.
