Head coach Spencer Carbery confirmed that Sonny Milano will be out with an upper-body injury sustained against the Predators, leading to Jakub Vrana's return to the lineup.
Vrana has been productive early in the season, with four points (2 goals and 2 assists) in his first nine games, providing a boost to the Capitals.
Despite no obvious signs of injury during the game against Nashville, Milano's injury leaves Vrana as the only healthy forward after the recent roster changes.
With back-to-back games looming, Carbery indicated a call-up from the AHL may be necessary to fill the forward position before traveling to St. Louis.
