Spencer Carbery experienced a chaotic journey to Quebec City for his son's Pee-Wee hockey tournament, resulting from cancelled flights and winter storms. After missing a connection in Toronto, he resorted to renting a car for the drive. Although he missed his son's first game, the adventure took a turn for the complicated on his way back when storms caused multiple cancellations. With the help of another player's father, he drove through blizzard conditions to Boston, only to face yet another flight cancellation, leading him to rely on Capitals assistant coach Scott Allen for a carpool back home.
"I had a planes, trains, and automobiles situation going on for sure. Yeah, I ended up having to drive. So, I missed the connector in Toronto."
"And then, coming home, the storm started. I knew the flight was going to get canceled... I hitched a ride with one of the other dads to Boston, and it was like blizzards the whole way."
