3 places to see cherry blossoms that aren't Washington D.C.
Briefly

The cherry blossom peak in Washington D.C. was officially declared on March 28 but was cut short due to a thunderstorm. This year's bloom was fleeting, with many blossoms blown away by high winds and rain. While the D.C. cherry trees are iconic, several other locations across the country also celebrate the cherry blossom season, including Branch Brook Park in New Jersey and the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis, where various cherry tree collections can be enjoyed by visitors.
While the peak bloom in Washington might be the country's most famous, it's not the only place where people can see the blossoms.
My favorite part of the cherry blossom season is the return to activity that it symbolizes.
The Branch Brook Park cherry tree collection dates back to the 1920s and now has over 16 different varieties.
People come from all over the Midwest to see the Weeping Higan Cherries at the Missouri Botanical Garden.
