Elon Musk's initiative to reduce $2 trillion in federal spending has resulted in dramatic measures, including converting a General Services Administration office into a makeshift dormitory. DOGE employees, who work under Musk, have moved in beds and toys to facilitate their work-living arrangement. However, this tactic has led to multiple errors, including severe miscalculations in savings, prompting the re-hiring of many federal employees. The legality of these living arrangements is questionable, violating previous GSA regulations against sleeping in governmental buildings unless expressly authorized.
This is typical Musk. At a New York investment conference last year, he shared that his 'primary residences' for three years were Tesla factories in California and Nevada.
So far, DOGE employees have screwed up their calculations on how much they have saved in government spending to the tune of billions of dollars.
DOGE operatives have decked out four rooms on the building's sixth floor with Ikea beds, lamps, and dressers.
A GSA bulletin put out in 2019 warns, 'Sleeping in buildings under the jurisdiction, custody or control of GSA ... is prohibited, except when expressly authorized by an agency official.'
