Senior US officials indicated that discussions are positive and productive, with most issues nearly resolved. The talks are led by Darpan Jain from India and Brendan Lynch from the USTR. An interim trade deal was agreed upon in February, reducing tariffs on both sides. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to visit New Delhi in May to discuss trade, security, and energy.
