The Rise and Fall of Neumorphism
Briefly

Neumorphism emerged as a UI design trend around 2019-2020, primarily gaining traction within the Dribbble and Behance design communities. At that time, many designers were tired of semi-flat design and dreamed of creating new, fresh aesthetics.
Neumorphism gave UI elements a soft, extruded look, making them appear dimensional yet also flat. This design trend aimed to blend realism with minimalism, creating a unique aesthetic in the crowded field of user interface design.
Even the latest product from Apple - Vision Pro - uses a semi-flat aesthetic, demonstrating that despite the rise of neumorphism, there remains a strong preference for semi-flat designs in contemporary interfaces.
Despite all the advantages of semi-flat aesthetic, it has one significant downside - semi-flat UIs don't have distinct visual attributes. This limitation spurred the resurgence of interest in neumorphism, which aimed to add more memorable details and familiarity in UI.
