Experience: I donated my uterus to a stranger now we're close friends
Briefly

In June 2019, an inspiring story about a woman donating her womb triggered the author's interest in organ donation. After researching uterus transplants, she discovered the procedure's existence in the U.S. and its help for women with uterine issues. Motivated by empathy and a desire to help, she applied for a transplant program at a nearby hospital. After a rigorous evaluation process, she was accepted and eventually prepared for surgery, where her uterine donation would allow another woman the opportunity to experience motherhood.
When I heard a woman donated her womb to a stranger, it profoundly impacted me and inspired me to explore organ donation in a personal way.
I knew I was embarking on a major journey, facing physical risks, but the chance to help another woman became my motivating force.
