Isidora Uribe Silva, a 20-year-old law student from Chile, faces systemic discrimination due to her cerebral palsy. After experiencing bullying and lack of support at a new school, she was isolated for months before finding an inclusive institution. This motivated her to advocate for policies that ensure equality for women with disabilities. At 13, she created Encuentra Tu Lugar, an app to locate accessible parking, and later founded an organization of the same name. She is actively involved with U.N. Women to promote gender-equal leadership.
This experience made me deeply aware of the systemic exclusion that exists, not just for myself but for many other marginalized communities worldwide.
I ended up leaving and didn't attend school at all for seven months until I found Institucion Teresiana in Santiago, Chile, which accepted me with my disability.
I became an advocate for inclusion policies, working to promote equality in Chile and globally, especially for women like me who have disabilities.
Subsequently, I established a foundation called Encuentra Tu Lugar to help disabled people in Chile find accessible parking spaces.
