HubSpot CEO's schedule includes a personal workday on the weekend to avoid the 'Sunday scaries'
Briefly

HubSpot CEO Yamini Rangan has a unique approach to managing her workweek, using Sundays for deep reflection and preparation. Despite a demanding tech environment, she maintains strict boundaries, completely unplugging after Friday evening to fully recharge before diving into her Sunday work. For over fifteen years, Rangan has viewed Sundays as an opportunity to learn, think creatively, and organize her thoughts without distractions. This routine, born from the need to separate work from personal life during the pandemic, emphasizes flexibility and personal satisfaction in her schedule.
I'm not scared of Sundays. I enjoy it because it's my time. I get to decide what I'm learning, what I'm doing, what I'm thinking, what I'm writing. It is completely my schedule.
Sunday morning, it's a full workday for me, and it's my workday. This is the time I read, this is the time I do deep thinking, this is the time I write.
Then what I try to do is, Friday night whenever I'm done - it might be 8, 9, 10 - whatever time I'm done on Friday, I don't touch my computer and I don't think about work 'til Sunday morning.
I can't claim that I work really hard; I have a schedule that works for me, which allows me to take my necessary breaks to perform at my peak.
