'Kicked about in a different way' - Niewiadoma endures another form of Strade Bianche heartbreak after crash
Briefly

Kasia Niewiadoma, a Canyon-SRAM rider, experienced a devastating race-ending crash during the Strade Bianche. After falling twice, she was unable to continue despite initially resuming after her first fall. The second crash, occurring during a sweeping descent, left her in an ambulance reflecting on the disappointment of being unable to compete. Fortunately, she was later cleared of serious injuries by medical professionals and is expected to return to racing soon. This year marked only the second time in her eleven participations at Strade Bianche that she was unable to finish the race.
Being in the ambulance and not feeling great, plus knowing that the chance was just taken away from me, felt very upsetting.
As an athlete... when you crash out of the race, it feels like something has been taken away from you.
The team said she should be back on a start line in the near future, having been cleared of major injury.
Niewiadoma has had to become accustomed to the bittersweet feeling of being on the brink of a long-sought after result.
