Men are threatened by female bosses because it makes them feel unmanly

A study from the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau reveals that many men feel threatened by female bosses, which makes them feel 'unmanly'. Researchers analyzed 123 experiments involving nearly 20,000 men, finding that doubts about masculinity significantly alter emotions, behavior, and attitudes. Men react negatively when they perceive themselves as less assertive or dominant than others, especially in situations where they are subordinate to women. The study highlights the strong emotional distress men experience when their masculinity is challenged, particularly in the presence of others.
