Alice Kisiya, a Palestinian Christian activist from Beit Jala, regained access to her family's 5-dunam land in al-Makhrour for the first time since 2019 after an Israeli court found that settlers' ownership documents were fabricated. Settlers had built an illegal outpost on the property and later moved to land of relatives, prompting a prolonged legal battle. A settler organisation had claimed to have purchased the land and submitted forged papers. After years of proceedings the court rejected the settlers' allegation and affirmed the Kisiya family's legal ownership and right to return. Kisiya framed the ruling as affirming her rights and exposing manipulation of property documents.
