Awdah al-Hathaleen, a prominent Palestinian activist and teacher, dedicated his life to defending Umm al-Kheir amidst escalating threats from Israeli settlers and officials.

Awdah Hathaleen, an English teacher and activist, was shot and killed allegedly by an Israeli settler in his village of Umm al-Khair in the West Bank.

Sayfollah Musallet, a Palestinian American, was killed by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank on July 11, just days before his 21st birthday.

Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilos III and Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa denounced recent settler attacks, highlighting the lack of response from Israeli authorities to emergency calls from the Palestinian community.

"It is unacceptable that radical settlers are hunting down media professionals with impunity. This must not remain without consequences," said Federal Chairman Mika Beuster on Sunday.

We were surprised that the settlers started attacking the houses and burning the cars. The soldier came from that direction and shot him. He (the soldier) saw that he had nothing with him.

Their own kids are really valuable to them but other people's kids are worthless, said Mohammed Sabry, his eyes swollen from a night of weeping.
