Congress Is Poised to Integrate US and Israeli Militaries More Closely Than Ever
Section 224 of the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act would establish a United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative. It would enable bilateral research and development, co-production of weapons, joint ventures, and licensing agreements. The scope would expand beyond existing missile-defense cooperation to include AI, quantum, autonomous systems, directed energy, cyber, and biotech. It would also implement “network integration” and “data fusion,” allowing U.S. military data to be used by Israeli forces. If enacted, the integration level would exceed U.S. ties with any other country, surpassing even NATO co-production and shared supply-chain efforts.
