US mediation efforts have thus far failed. China has the ability to influence Russia and has shown no effort to apply that influence to stop the offensive. NATO will launch operation 'Eastern Sentry' to protect its eastern flank. Russia and Belarus have begun 'Zapad' military drills for the first time since the war in Ukraine. Allies are urged to press Beijing to act, as the conflict continues to escalate and reshape regional security.
