"They wanted a home that was not merely functional, but also emotional,"
"A home that speaks of their love, their history, and also their location by the sea."
"The palette is typical of seaside homes, but we wanted to break the predictability by inserting orange accents as a vibrant note, like a stunning sunset,"
An 861-square-foot apartment overlooks the sea west of Naples and serves as a personal retreat for Anna Maria and Gianfranco. Anna Maria, in her eighties, taught in Bacoli; Gianfranco, 91, worked internationally in oil and automobile industries. The couple wanted a home that reflected their life and love rather than mere functionality. Architect Francesco Giordano shaped Casa SDG with soft arches, oak panelling, and large windows that flood rooms with light. The palette pairs pure white walls with deep blue contrasts and oak, while orange accents evoke sunset. Curved ceilings and carved arches mimic sea waves and create smooth spatial transitions.
