Briefly

A young entrepreneur closed his Beijing start-up Someet during the COVID-19 pandemic and relocated to Shaxi to live freely and settle in a single building. Shaxi is an ancient, spring-like town where people have lived and thrived for over a thousand years and where the Bai people have lived for generations. The local culture values communal gatherings, singing and dancing. The project involved a multidisciplinary team led by Guowei Liu, structural and engineering support, the Ouyang Donghe Bai construction team, lighting by Kuao (Shenzhen), furniture from NAZA, Schneider Electric switches, and entrance installation by Dayangdashu Interactive Studio.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, a young man shut down his start-up company Someet, a platform that has organized tens of thousands of self-initiated interest offline activities for young people. Then he decided to move from Beijing to Shaxi, hoping to live freely and settle down here through this building. This is a spring-like all year round Chinese ancient town, people have lived and thrived here for over a thousand years.
