"In response, Swatt + Partners unified the house into a more cohesive composition with a plan that remains consistent from one level to the next. Open sightlines and an expanded relationship to the exterior were central to this reorganization, allowing views to register fully throughout the interior. The plan prioritizes clarity of movement and orientation, while materials and structure work together to anchor the home to its hillside location."
The Lagoon View Residence sits on steep Tiburon ridgeline with sweeping views of San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Pacific. A remodel and addition unified a fragmented 4,753-square-foot house into cohesive composition with plan consistent across levels. Open sightlines and expanded exterior relationships allow views to register throughout interior spaces. Materials and structure anchor the house to the hillside, while shifts between enclosure and openness define spatial experience: solid stone volumes and vertical elements on the north; floor-to-ceiling glass, cantilevered roof, and terraces to the south and west. Interiors balance custom and made-to-order furnishings; outdoor seating aligns to bay-facing vistas.
