A Dallas Apartment Realigns With the Building's Midcentury DNA
Briefly

Parks designed an apartment that balances eclecticism with a sense of glamour. The dining room pairs an airy tablecloth with vibrant chairs to counter architectural heaviness. The living room features a marble-and-oak bar leading into a kitchen with periwinkle cabinets and saffron tiles. The office exudes a quiet gravitas with Duck Green walls, while the bedroom showcases calming colors to lower the mood. The guest bathroom, inspired by Mexico City, contrasts its modernity with pink walls and green stripes, reflecting Parks' intent to create a bold and optimistic environment.
In the dining room, Parks sought a counterpoint to the architecture's heaviness. An airy, almost sheer tablecloth softens the room, while custom Kufri-upholstered chairs offer vivid color without tipping into loudness.
The living room is flanked by a marble-and-oak bar that gives way to the kitchen where Reform cabinets in a custom periwinkle marry with saffron-hued zellige tiles to create an undeniably happy color combo.
In the bedroom, Parks opted for cool tones-lavender drapery, a light green Nordic Knots rug, tan and white paint-to 'bring the mood down.'
The guest bathroom offers a fantasy-like departure from its modern surroundings, inspired by a trip to Mexico City with deep, pink walls and a shower striped with green.
