A kitchen can be refreshed on a budget through simple and affordable updates, as demonstrated by partners Taylor Greeley and Markus Sebastiano. They revamped their 60-square-foot kitchen using peel-and-stick tiles, updated light fixtures, and contact paper for countertops instead of costly renovations. Their previous kitchen felt outdated and lacked visual appeal, which these budget-friendly solutions effectively addressed, enhancing the space's overall aesthetics and functionality without the need for extensive remodeling.
"Overall it felt dated and boring," Taylor says of the "before." She and Markus disliked the tile that clashed with the wood living room flooring, the lack of texture in the space - specifically, a backsplash - and the drop ceilings.
By using peel-and-stick tiles, swapping out light fixtures, and applying contact paper to countertops, we transformed our kitchen affordably without major renovations.
