The Hotel del Coronado, an iconic wooden hotel on the West Coast, has completed a $550 million renovation after six years of intermittent closures. This extensive restoration, initiated in 2018, included significant updates to the Victorian building, which has been a central part of the hotel's history since its opening in 1888. Owner Blackstone Real Estate invested $160 million in the building alone, increasing guest rooms from 367 to 404. The project also uncovered and restored original frescoes, enhancing the hotel's historical appeal, while introducing new dining and fitness facilities for guests.
